My sons 10 and 4 1/2 love this nerf gun. Although it is to big for my younger son, he still tries to play with it.
It does fire fast and the clip that holds 35 darts is pretty cool. We thought it would have been a good idea to have the round cover unsnap so you could load them faster, but as it stands, you have to load them one at a time through the end of it. It's OK though, not a big deal. It actually works and doesn't jam up at all. We got the gun from Toys R Us and it had a bonus of 100 extra darts that came with it which made it an exceptional deal because buying the extra darts can get a little expensive. Would buy this item again.

If you're buying a Nerf gun, the "Raider" is the one to have. Our house has them all - most seem to have cheesy features that do little to enhance the "funability" - detachable stocks, red "laser" sites...those are neat for box art, but for tearing around the yard? You want fire power. The Raider fires very fast, doesn't jam and seems to have as much power as the Nerf Lawyers allow.

The drum mechanism is surprisingly reliable - at least for now. We've just taken ownership, so there's a lot of wear-and-tear to experience! We'll see. However, we decided to review early because there were some reviews that describe a jamming or difficulty with the loading mechanism. Straight out of the box, ours wouldn't load either...until we clicked in the clip. Then? Fine. So maybe the other reviewers hadn't attached their drum or clip yet?

Anyway, I'd say that if you were buying Nerf guns for your army, there are two you really should have - the Raider and the little single-shot "pistols." The rest are - in my opinion - thunk up by brand-extension wonks who just want to sell toys. Which is fine...but if your Nerfite really wants to PLAY, forget the features and just go with reliable firing.

The "vulcan" is, in my opinion, worthless btw - it fires slower than a 3 year old throwing ping pong balls and requires batteries. Plus, it's ungainly and...well...get a Raider.

Grandson 13, likes it very much. This was a birthday present, and he enjoyed playing with it, with his friends. Seems the gun held together well. The Nerf N- Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 Dart Blaster-Blue.

My son was very excited to see the Amazon box today! He knew there would be something good inside. It looked great, but working great....not so much.
Put it together per the instructions, but the toy did not work. Very disappointing
for me and my son. Several parts of this Nerf gun would not move as they were
intended to. The darts would just drop out, not shoot out. The directions were
followed to the letter. This might have been a fluke that the gun didn't work.
Thanks!

What a great saver. The power went out Island wide (the entire island went black), so single Mom of a nine and seven year old broke out the kids camping tent in the living room. We went out to the covered lanai and started the hibachi (grill). We started roasting marshmallows. When relatives found out what we were doing, everyone ended up at our house, then the kids brought out the monopoly and the adults brought out the wine and merlot. The kids had a great time...even my teenager niece was amazed that she didn't have to countrol all the money for the little kids. It was so easy with the bank machine. GREAT GAME!! Oh, and the adults had fun as well!

I gave this a lower score because I assumed, incorrectly, that it was more advanced than it is. It is still pretty complicated (and I am a count on my fingers kind of girl, so what can I say). It does replace all the lose cash all over, all though unless the banker tells you how much you still have, or you keep up with it, you are unaware of your remaining balance.

This latest version of Monopoly is great fun and so much simpler than counting those pesky bills!!! My grandkids loved the banking tool and we all loved the improved speed of the game!

This version of monopoly is not for the traditionalist. The "electronic banking" really makes the game a bust. All of the fun of interacting with each player and exchanging money is gone. It is also hard to keep track of how much money player have - I personally missed my piles of money in front of me. The game also looses its educational value because you do not have to count money. The age range of the players was 23 -44 and we all preferred the original version of the game. I would only recommend for someone under 20 who has never played the original version. I also missed the original property names.
